The Pressure to Conform: Why Some Jewish Students Are Aligning with Antisemitic Rhetoric
Jewish students on many campuses are in an impossible position. Some feel pressure to downplay or even align with antisemitic
Parents for Peace was honored to participate in the 2024 Public Safety Preparedness Summit, where our very own Kevin Lambert led a powerful panel discussion, “Indicators of Violence Prevention: Preventative Strategies and Early Intervention.” This engaging session explored how communities can recognize warning signs of radicalization and take proactive steps to prevent violence before it takes root.
Kevin’s panel emphasized the importance of awareness and collaboration in violence prevention. By identifying early indicators of radicalization and understanding the tools available for intervention, communities can create an environment where individuals at risk receive the support they need to step away from harmful paths.
We were privileged to share the stage with esteemed speakers Peter Simi, Ryan Brown, and Noel Lipana, DSW. Their insights deepened the conversation, highlighting innovative strategies and research-backed approaches to building safer, more resilient communities. Together, the panel underscored the need for a multidisciplinary approach to address the complexities of violence and extremism.
At Parents for Peace, we believe that prevention starts with education, understanding, and compassion. Events like the Public Safety Preparedness Summit remind us of the power of collaboration in fostering real change. We’re grateful to our fellow panelists and attendees for their shared commitment to creating safer spaces for all.
Thank you to everyone who made this summit a success. Together, we’re taking meaningful steps toward a future free from violence and extremism.
