Stand Up to Hate: A Call to Action

Parents for Peace is a national nonprofit working across all ideologies to prevent extremism.

We help people leave hate behind and support families and communities with compassion-driven prevention and healing.

Let us show you how we stand up to hate — and how you can too.

The Problem

Online extremists are targeting young people at record rates.
74% of our helpline cases involve youth and young adults under 26.

Hate is showing up in our homes, schools, and on our children’s screens. Everyone is affected and families are desperately searching for help.

Parents for Peace has been on the frontline of this issue since 2016. We built an evidence-informed model that stops hate across the spectrum before it turns to harm.

White Textured Paper

We didn’t realize how far he had gone online. The more we tried to intervene, the more he withdrew.

Eventually, we were connected with Parents for Peace. For the first time, we didn’t feel judged. We didn’t feel alone.

Our Solution

A dual approach: helping individuals recover while equipping communities to prevent extremism.

Confidential Helpline – We answer the call when families and individuals are in crisis. Our trained staff provide specialized guidance and support.

Professional & Peer Support – We provide individually-tailored and trauma-informed services to radicalized individuals and their families.

Support Groups – We create safe, non-judgmental spaces to break isolation, share resources, and build hope.

WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS

Training & Education – We teach skills to professionals, schools, and communities to prevent violence and build resilience.

Public Awareness & Outreach – We foster societal engagement to address the underlying causes of extremism.

Advocacy – We shape the development of policies that treat radicalization as a public health issue—not just a criminal one.

Parents for Peace was literally a lifesaver during a very dark time for our family. My son was in a mental health crisis & I discovered he was engaging with extremist & dangerous content online. Finding providers that truly understood his situation & how to help was challenging.

Parents for Peace knew exactly what to do. They helped me put together a care team, secure the support he needed, and gave me the tools to advocate for him. Today, I have my son back.  I don't know if our story would have had a happy ending without the expertise of Parents for Peace.
